PM Graduate Begins New Job at Internet Search Engine "Google"

PMHS Class of 2001 graduate, Eric Koleda, has begun a new career with the popular Internet search engine "Google." While a student at PMHS, Eric was a member of the Math team and Computer Club. He excelled in all his Computer Science classes and Digital Arts classes. Upon graduation, Eric attended Colgate University and graduated in 2005 Magna Cum Laude with High Honors in Computer Science. At Colgate, Eric was manager of the college television station, CUTV.

Immediately upon graduating from Colgate, Eric was employed as a web application developer and senior consultant for Booz Allen Hamilton, followed by a stint as a web content manager and software consultant at Open Text Web Solutions. He has recently become employed at "Google" as a Developer Programs Engineer in Web services, API support and advocacy.

Eric credits all his expertise and love of the subject matter to two of his teachers at PMHS who inspired him to achieve higher and higher. Computer Science teacher, Mrs. Kathleen Bucaria, and Digital Arts teacher, Mrs. Ellen DiFazio, instilled in Eric the skills, competence and love of working with programming and design. He states that he had no idea in high school what he wanted to do in college until he took classes with Mrs. Bucaria and Mrs. DiFazio. He was extremely well prepared when he arrived at Colgate by taking these classes at PMHS and says he will always be grateful to these two fine teachers for helping him achieve a profession he absolutely loves. To quote Eric directly, he says "I am very thankful to Mrs. Bucaria and Mrs. DiFazio for giving me the tools and the passion to reach my goals." Eric now lives in Park Slope, Brooklyn and has a younger brother, Kyle, who graduated PMHS in 2009. His mother, Nancy, still works in the Pat-Med district as a teachers aide.

The entire membership of PMCT and the Pat-Med community are extremely proud of Eric's accomplishments as well as the hard work and dedication of Mrs. Bucaria, Mrs. DiFazio and all the teachers in the district who work hard each and everyday to help their students achieve success in their future endeavors.
