Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk The Patchogue-Medford Congress of Teachers raised over $10,700 for breast cancer research during the October 21st “ Making Strides Against Breast Cancer” Walk at Jones Beach. More than 73 members of PMCT participated where Outreach chairpersons Jackie Nolan and Terry Silver greeted each person at the sign-in tent. Oregon Middle School teacher Andy Bacon raised over $2,000 along with his G.O. students who also walked that day. After the walk, Andy took his class on a field trip to the Bronx Zoo. The students of the National Junior Honor Society at South Ocean MS, along with their advisors, Ms. Kennedy and Ms. Tuohey, raised over $750 toward cancer research. The Oregon Middle School field hockey team and their advisor, Terry Breen, also raised additional funds for cancer research.

The participants had beautiful weather to walk that day with bright sunshine and warm temperatures. As always, the PMCT had one of the largest contingents participating and raised the most funds. Click Here to See all the PARTICIPANTS!
